Count is a mercenary pilot who, along with Trigger, is recruited into the Osean Long Range Strategic Strike Group (LRSSG) after serving in Spare Squadron, an Osean penal military unit. The transfer occurs after Spare Squadron is pardoned for their commendable performance alongside Trigger, and the 444th is moved to Tyler Island. Count and Trigger are specifically selected for the elite LRSSG, where Count becomes a member of Strider Squadron. During the Lighthouse War, Count participates in the Osean counteroffensive against Erusea, including the destruction of the Arsenal Bird Liberty using the sole remaining Stonehenge railgun. He is present during the assault on the Erusean capital of Farbanti, where Trigger duels Mihaly again over the city. After a catastrophic global communications blackout caused by anti-satellite weapons, the LRSSG is cut off from command and forced to operate independently. Count continues to fight alongside Trigger as they attempt to extract an Erusean conservative informant.

Count's story in Ace Combat 7 begins with his service in Spare Squadron, a penal unit at the Osean 444th Air Base. After Spare Squadron is pardoned for their performance alongside Trigger, Count and Trigger are recruited into the elite Long Range Strategic Strike Group (LRSSG). Count fights in key battles of the Lighthouse War, including the destruction of the Arsenal Bird Liberty. He is present during the duel between Trigger and Mihaly over Farbanti, which is interrupted when Osean and Erusean anti-satellite weapons cause a collisional cascade, sparking a global communications blackout. Cut off from command, the LRSSG operates independently, and Count joins Trigger in attempting to extract an Erusean conservative informant.
